Story related to Diwali
The most popular story associated with Diwali is the return of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshmana, to Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana.
Rama, the rightful heir to the throne of Ayodhya, was exiled for fourteen years by his father, King Dasharatha. During his exile, Ravana, the powerful king of Lanka, kidnapped Sita. Rama, along with Lakshmana and an army of monkeys led by Hanuman, fought a fierce battle against Ravana and his demon army.
After a long and arduous battle, Rama emerged victorious, rescuing Sita and defeating Ravana. Upon their return to Ayodhya, the people of the city rejoiced and illuminated their homes with diyas (clay lamps) to welcome their beloved king. The entire city was bathed in a sea of light, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the triumph of light over darkness.
